Deal Desk Manager

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential workflow automation client in their search for a Deal Desk Manager based in Berlin. Our client is building the commercial infrastructure to support rapid growth in the AI and automation space, and this role will be foundational to scaling their revenue operations.

As their first dedicated Deal Desk leader, you'll design and implement the entire function from the ground up—leveraging automation and AI to create approval workflows, pricing guardrails, and contract management processes that enable sales velocity without sacrificing margin or compliance.

Responsibilities

• Build the Deal Desk function from scratch with an automation-first approach, including intake processes, approval workflows, and pricing guardrails
• Advise Sales on deal structure and pricing to protect margin while maintaining deal velocity
• Maintain a streamlined set of discount and pricing rules that empower Sales to move independently on standard deals
• Run monthly and quarterly deal war rooms to accelerate close cycles, especially at period-end
• Handle contract redlines and non-standard terms directly, minimizing Legal escalations
• Develop a redline clause library to enable AI-assisted contract negotiation on routine deals
• Automate approvals and quoting in CPQ, using AI to triage requests and flag which changes require re-approval
• Own Salesforce data quality and contract hygiene across all closed deals
• Support Customer Success on complex renewal and expansion structures
• Coordinate security and compliance requests (DPA, SOC 2, security addenda) across teams
• Report monthly on deal desk performance metrics including cycle time, discounting patterns, and exception rates

What We're Looking For

Must-haves:

• Deep experience developing and operating a deal desk function, not just executing established processes
• Strong understanding of SaaS pricing models, revenue recognition, ARR reporting principles, and enterprise contract structures
• Proven ability to negotiate and redline order-form-level terms directly with customers, with sound judgment on Legal escalation
• Hands-on CPQ and Salesforce configuration and operational experience
• AI-native working style with concrete examples of deal or approval workflows you've automated
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills across Sales, Legal, RevOps, and Finance

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience building a deal desk or similar function from scratch, defining processes and policies yourself
• Familiarity with modern CPQ and billing platforms such as Salesforce CPQ, Hyperline, or Solvimon
• Curiosity about workflow automation and AI orchestration technologies

Pay
