About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential sustainability-focused consulting organization based in München that is seeking an experienced Head of Product Management. This is a strategic leadership role where you will shape product strategy, mentor a high-performing team, and drive meaningful client impact through modern product practices and AI integration.

Our client works with purpose-driven organizations to deliver transformative product solutions. As their Head of Product Management, you will balance hands-on client engagement with team development, process excellence, and strategic contribution at the leadership level.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of product managers, focusing on professional growth, skill development, and client excellence
• Engage directly in key client projects as Project Lead or in a steering capacity, translating complex client objectives into actionable plans and ensuring quality delivery
• Develop and evolve the product team's strategy while collaborating with executive leadership on broader organizational direction
• Standardize product management processes and create operational synergies across multiple client accounts
• Own end-to-end recruiting and onboarding to build a world-class product management team
• Drive concrete AI use cases across discovery, prototyping, and product strategy to optimize workflows and future-proof product development
• Manage team utilization and staffing to ensure optimal project assignments
• Identify new business opportunities through direct client collaboration and represent the organization as a thought leader in the market
• Provide strategic product consulting and effectively manage internal and external stakeholders

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of product management experience, including time in product companies plus consulting or agency environments
• Proven track record leading, recruiting, and developing high-performing product teams
• Demonstrated success in hands-on project leadership with the ability to guide teams and ensure high-quality execution
• Deep expertise in AI with practical experience optimizing product workflows and a forward-looking perspective on AI in product development
• Strong strategic thinking with demonstrated ability to contribute to executive-level strategy discussions
• Highly structured approach with excellent initiative-driving and stakeholder management capabilities
• Ability to balance technical depth with business value and monetization considerations
• Executive presence with comfort challenging assumptions and collaborating at the C-level
• Willingness to work onsite in München at least 40% of the time to collaborate directly with your team and leadership
• Direct, empathetic, and pragmatic communication and feedback style
• Fluency in German and English strongly preferred given the München location and client base
