About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential enterprise AI software organization seeking a Data Scientist or Senior Data Scientist to join their London team. Our client works with some of the world's largest companies, helping them build next-generation AI-powered enterprise applications. You'll collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and subject matter experts to define analytics capabilities that enable digital transformation at scale.
In this role, you'll apply your expertise in machine learning and data mining to real-world enterprise challenges, implementing solutions that run at scale on a modern AI platform. Some travel is expected.
Responsibilities
- Lead the research, design, implementation, and deployment of machine learning algorithms, intelligent agents, and optimization solutions for enterprise applications
- Enable enterprise customers to build their own AI applications through guidance and technical enablement
- Contribute to the design and implementation of new platform features
- Analyze model performance across asset fleets, diagnose issues such as low risk scores or false positives, and recommend hyperparameter adjustments
- Collaborate with data and subject matter experts to seek, understand, validate, interpret, and correctly use new data elements
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related field
- Applied AI experience including generative AI, agentic solutions, regression and classification, supervised and unsupervised learning
- Strong mathematical background in linear algebra, calculus, probability, and statistics
- Experience with scalable ML technologies such as MapReduce and streaming
- Ability to drive projects independently and work effectively in teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Smart, motivated, can-do attitude with a drive to make a difference
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with JavaScript and prototyping languages such as Python and R
- Experience with Java and Scala is a plus
- A portfolio of projects (GitHub, papers, etc.) is a plus
