Senior Software Engineer (m/f/d)

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential healthcare technology organization based in Mainz. We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer who wants to do more than maintain existing systems—someone ready to take ownership of features from technical design through production release.

This role offers the chance to work on applications used in live production environments while tackling an exciting technical challenge: evolving an existing architecture step by step toward more modular, maintainable structures. You'll have real influence over technical decisions, from architecture and code quality to long-term solution strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance web applications using C#, ASP.NET Core, and ReactJS
• Build new features and contribute to modernizing a monolithic architecture toward clearly defined domain boundaries
• Help shape AI-assisted software development practices while ensuring architectural decisions remain grounded in sound technical judgment
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to automate release processes
• Take end-to-end ownership of releases within established change management processes
• Ensure software quality through automated testing and thorough code reviews
• Support and mentor new team members technically

What We're Looking For

• Degree or vocational qualification in Computer Science, Software Development, or comparable field
• Several years of professional software development experience with C#,.NET Core, and Entity Framework
• Proven experience taking end-to-end ownership of a service or domain from design through production
• Hands-on experience with REST APIs, MS SQL, and modern JavaScript technologies including React and TypeScript
• Solid understanding of CI/CD, Azure DevOps, and hosting applications on Microsoft Azure
• Knowledge of healthcare communication standards such as FHIR or HL7
• Confidence using AI-assisted development tools with the technical judgment to critically evaluate their output
• Fluent English skills (B2+ level required)
• German language skills are a plus
