Senior Backend Software Engineer (m/f/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential cloud infrastructure organization seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join their growing European team. In this role, you will:

• Own complex features end to end – from product discovery and planning through technical design, implementation, testing, and maintenance
• Conduct code and technical design reviews, raising the bar for quality across the engineering team
• Mentor junior engineers and actively contribute to a culture of learning and continuous improvement
• Shape platform capabilities including deployment technology, managed services, authentication/authorization, and developer experience
• Work on distributed systems that power sovereign cloud infrastructure for enterprise and government clients

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Several years of professional experience in software development, ideally in web or distributed systems
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and/or Go
• Solid understanding of SQL databases, distributed systems, and the design of APIs and microservices architectures
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Degree in a relevant field or comparable qualification
• Strong foundations in Computer Science fundamentals
• Professional proficiency in English, written and spoken
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Openness to feedback and a genuine drive to keep learning
• Structured approach to problem-solving and curiosity for technology

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience building and/or operating cloud infrastructure components in cloud-native environments (message queues, SQL/NoSQL databases)
• Familiarity with React
• Experience building and/or operating monitoring and logging systems
• DevSecOps mindset and hands-on experience
