IT Administrator

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS scale-up in Berlin seeking their first dedicated IT Administrator. This is a rare opportunity to build an IT function from the ground up in a well-funded, rapidly growing organization of approximately 100 employees. You'll take ownership of the entire IT support experience—from device management and onboarding to SaaS administration and day-to-day troubleshooting—giving colleagues an IT environment that simply works.

Responsibilities

As the sole IT Administrator, you will:

• Set up, maintain, repair, and replace laptops (Mac and Windows) for the entire company
• Manage the device fleet through JumpCloud MDM: enrollment, updates, configuration profiles, and security baselines
• Maintain accurate hardware inventory and manage the complete lifecycle from purchase to secure disposal
• Execute the IT components of joiner/mover/leaver processes: accounts, hardware, and access rights provisioning and deprovisioning
• Continuously improve and automate onboarding/offboarding workflows to scale with company growth
• Administer user accounts, groups, and SSO across the SaaS stack including Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, and other tools
• Execute access requests and support periodic access reviews in collaboration with the Security team
• Serve as first point of contact for IT questions and issues, both in-office and for remote colleagues
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, accounts, and connectivity problems while documenting solutions for reuse
• Support office IT infrastructure including meeting room equipment, printers, WiFi, and event technology as needed

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Fluent German and English—you'll support colleagues daily in both languages
• Hands-on experience in IT support or IT administration, ideally in a Mac and SaaS-based environment
• Experience with an MDM and/or identity provider (JumpCloud, Jamf, Kandji, Okta, Google Workspace, or similar), or demonstrated ability to learn such tools quickly
• Strong service mindset: friendly, responsive, patient, and motivated to unblock colleagues efficiently
• Structured working style with ability to track open tickets, document processes, and follow through consistently
• Comfort with light scripting or automation (shell, Python, or low-code tools), or motivation to develop this skill with AI assistance

Bonus qualifications:

• Experience administering Google Workspace and Slack
• Experience with hardware lifecycle management and IT asset inventory systems
• Basic networking knowledge (WiFi, VPN, DNS)
• Exposure to ISO 27001 or other security frameworks (access reviews, device compliance)
• Experience in a fast-growing startup environment

Work arrangement: This is an on-site role in Berlin with regular office presence required, as a core part of the position involves hands-on device setup, in-person colleague support, and maintaining office IT infrastructure. Flexibility exists for hours and some remote days outside of these on-site requirements.
