This organization is developing advanced optical interconnect solutions that address critical challenges in high-performance computing infrastructure. We are seeking a Senior Platform & Hardware Applications Engineer to serve as a technical bridge between cutting-edge photonic technology and customer deployments.

In this role, you will enable successful customer adoption of next-generation optical compute interconnect products. You'll work across product engineering, photonics, packaging, test engineering, and commercial teams to support customers while channeling field insights back into product development. Your work will span platform integration, high-speed system validation, reference design creation, and hands-on technical support throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Guide customers through integration of optical interconnect products into ecosystem solutions including switches, NICs, accelerators, ASICs, and FPGA-based platforms
• Support customer bring-up and debug activities, covering link training, BER validation, interoperability testing, firmware configuration, and system-level troubleshooting
• Develop technical collateral including example schematics, reference boards, application notes, and integration guides addressing power delivery, clocking, fiber and cable routing, management interfaces, pinouts, register maps, and thermal/mechanical considerations
• Contribute to SDKs and PDKs where appropriate to facilitate customer development workflows
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams to communicate field issues, customer feedback, and feature requests that shape future product roadmaps
• Support pre-sales activities such as evaluations, demonstrations, and benchmarking exercises
• Provide post-sales technical support including debugging, escalation management, customer training, and on-site laboratory assistance for key accounts

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related technical field, or equivalent industry experience
• Strong hands-on experience with FPGA and ASIC SerDes bring-up, including evaluation board PCB design, RTL development, IP integration, embedded software, tool flows, high-speed measurements, and interposer validation
• Proven customer-facing communication skills with ability to explain complex signal integrity and optical system concepts, write technical documentation, and coordinate multi-stakeholder debugging efforts
• Solid understanding of optical interconnect technologies: optical transceivers, Co-Packaged Optics (CPO), optical chiplets, link budgets, NRZ/PAM4 modulation, equalization, and high-speed standards (Ethernet, PCIe, CXL, JESD204)
• Programming and scripting experience for PC-based platforms to control demonstrations, automate experiments, interface with test equipment, and analyze data
• Hands-on proficiency with laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, voltmeters, logic analyzers, pattern generators, and high-speed debug tools
• Experience with FPGA programming and development tool flows
• Familiarity with PCB CAD tools for schematic capture and layout, Microsoft Office, and engineering documentation tools
