Engineering Manager, Product Engineering

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS client in their search for an Engineering Manager to lead a talented product engineering team. Our client builds technology that empowers appointment-based businesses to streamline operations and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

In this role, you'll balance technical leadership with people management, leading a team of 5-8 engineers who build scalable, user-centric solutions across domains including customer engagement, commerce, scheduling, and core platform capabilities. You'll partner closely with Product and Design to shape roadmaps and drive delivery while fostering a culture of technical excellence and professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of 5-8 engineers across various experience levels
• Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning
• Partner with Product Management and Design to define and execute team roadmaps
• Drive technical excellence through code reviews and architectural guidance
• Build a high-performing team culture focused on collaboration and continuous improvement
• Manage team delivery, remove blockers, and ensure successful project execution
• Contribute to hiring, interviewing, and onboarding new engineering talent
• Participate in on-call rotation and lead incident response when needed
• Balance hands-on technical contribution with team enablement and leadership

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 5+ years of software development experience
• 2+ years of people management and engineering leadership
• Proven ability to lead and develop engineering teams successfully
• Strong technical background with ability to provide architectural guidance
• Experience with agile development methodologies and delivery management
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Track record of building inclusive, high-performing teams
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity for your team
• Experience managing remote teams and async collaboration

Nice to Have:

• Previous experience in B2B SaaS or marketing platforms
• Background in payment systems, scheduling, or commerce platforms
• Experience with Elixir, React, or similar technologies
• MBA or advanced degree in a related field

Pay

The client has indicated the following base salary ranges by location:

• NYC, SF Bay Area, and Seattle: $173,000 - $216,500 per year
• All other U.S. locations: $153,500 - $211,200 per year

This role may also be eligible for variable compensation. Final compensation depends on experience, location, and leveling.
