About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential client in the mobile advertising technology space, seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join their Revenue Engine team. This team focuses on understanding marketplace economics, including demand elasticity and competitive dynamics in the programmatic advertising ecosystem.

Our client operates a performance-focused platform serving thousands of mobile app businesses globally. This is a remote-first role with a preference for candidates based in California, though other US locations will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Build statistical models and production systems that balance advertiser performance with strategic business objectives
• Tune optimization parameters, measure internal competitive dynamics, and model complex marketplace environments
• Design and execute experiments to validate economic and behavioral theories in the mobile ad tech economy
• Develop machine learning applications for advertiser budget retention, growth optimization, margin allocation, and bidding strategies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and go-to-market stakeholders
• Communicate statistical and machine learning concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Contribute to an engineering excellence culture through modern tooling, rigorous testing, explainable systems, and thorough code review processes

What We're Looking For

• PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Economics, or a related quantitative field
• Industry experience applying economics or machine learning techniques to large-scale production problems
• Strong engineering fundamentals and coding proficiency
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams
• Experience in ad tech is a significant plus
• Ability to travel quarterly for team gatherings, project meetings, and company events
