Senior Fullstack Engineer

About the Role

We are representing a confidential technology company seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join their platform engineering team in London. This team builds internal tooling that enables thousands of employees to plan, coordinate, and deliver work effectively across the organization.

You'll work on a fullstack platform that supports initiative tracking, dependency management, and collaborative planning. This is a small, cross-functional team that moves quickly, learns from user feedback, and continuously improves the tools that help people do their best work.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve a fullstack platform supporting planning, collaboration, and execution workflows
• Design and deliver features including initiative tracking, planning workflows, and dependency management
• Work across the stack using React, TypeScript, Java, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, and Google Kubernetes Engine to build end-to-end solutions
• Partner closely with product managers and designers to understand user needs and create intuitive experiences
• Ensure reliability through testing, monitoring, and continuous improvement in production
• Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to production incidents when needed
• Improve performance, scalability, and maintainability of frontend and backend systems
• Lead the design and delivery of complex, high-impact features across the stack
• Own problems end-to-end, from shaping ambiguous requirements through to production-ready solutions
• Help define and evolve architecture across frontend, backend, and infrastructure
• Mentor engineers and contribute to raising the technical bar across the team

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience building scalable fullstack applications in production environments
• Strong experience working across frontend and backend technologies with understanding of how they integrate
• Experience with APIs, distributed systems, and modern web application architecture
• Track record of taking ownership of software from implementation through production health and ongoing improvements
• Experience designing systems and influencing technical direction
• Clear and effective communication skills through documentation and collaboration in distributed teams
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code that enables others to build with confidence
• Thoughtful use of AI-assisted development tools with sound engineering judgment to validate outputs
• Confidence navigating ambiguity and making thoughtful trade-offs between speed, quality, and long-term maintainability
• Experience mentoring others, sharing knowledge, and helping teammates grow
• Curiosity, proactivity, and motivation for continuous learning and experimentation

Location: London (hybrid flexible work arrangement with some in-person meetings)
