Senior Data Scientist – London (Hybrid)

Get A Job.ai is representing a leading marketplace technology company in their search for a Senior Data Scientist to join their London team. Our client operates a complex, multi-sided platform at significant scale, and their Data Science organization plays a central role in driving decision-making across product, operations, and platform initiatives.

This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week in their London office. The position offers the opportunity to work on high-impact problems in a fast-paced environment where data science directly influences strategic direction.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will:

• Drive proactive impact delivery: Independently identify, define, and deliver high-value work aligned with business goals and metrics. Own end-to-end delivery of fast, high-quality solutions with minimal guidance.
• Navigate ambiguity and complexity: Deconstruct broad, ambiguous problem spaces into structured technical roadmaps. Manage projects requiring deep technical rigor while understanding how they intersect with adjacent systems.
• Execute strategic technical work: Select the most effective analytical tools and methods for each challenge. Act as a trusted strategic partner to stakeholders, using analytics, communication, and domain expertise to influence product roadmaps.
• Lead experimentation and measurement: Design and execute measurement strategies that drive product direction, from simple A/B tests to complex experimental designs. Apply alternative causal inference techniques when standard trials aren't feasible.
• Contribute to organizational alignment: Actively participate in the broader Analytics community, driving learning and development initiatives and cross-functional collaboration to ensure work aligns with overarching business strategy.

What We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate will bring:

• Significant experience in Data Science or similar analytical roles
• A pragmatic and adaptable approach with strong focus on delivering impact efficiently at pace
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating business needs into data science problems
• Experience leading both simple and complex experiment designs, with ability to proactively extract insights that steer strategic decision-making
• Strong communication skills across multiple formats (in-person, written, code) and audiences (technical and non-technical)
• Ability to provide clear, actionable recommendations through solid analysis that influences team roadmaps
• Effective problem-solving skills, demonstrating success addressing complex and ambiguous challenges
• Creative and insightful thinking about business problems
• Proficiency with analytical tools such as R or Python, and strong familiarity with SQL
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor) to deliver high-quality work efficiently is valued
