Senior Enterprise Architect (Insurance Industry)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential insurance technology organization seeking a Senior Enterprise Architect to join their team on a remote basis. Our client is transforming how insurance solutions are delivered through modern cloud architectures and requires an experienced technical leader who can bridge strategy and execution.

This is a remote position with approximately 20–30% travel within Germany and Switzerland.

Responsibilities

• Define target end-to-end architectures with prospective insurance customers and guide them from initial technical analysis through signed solution agreements
• Present architectural concepts and technical roadmaps to C-level stakeholders (CTOs, CIOs, CDOs), acting as a trusted advisor for both technical and business decision-makers
• Drive technical transformation by standardizing architectural practices, introducing modern cloud and SaaS patterns, and enabling delivery teams
• Mentor Solution Architects and Customer Delivery Managers throughout the entire project lifecycle
• Document architectural decisions, requirements, and technical concepts to ensure long-term knowledge sharing within the organization
• Manage technical communication with all stakeholders—internal and external—maintaining consistent alignment across teams

What We're Looking For

• 8–10+ years of experience as an Enterprise Architect, including several years in the insurance industry or insurance-focused consulting
• Fluent, business-level German (C2/native) and English (C1 or higher), both written and spoken—mandatory. French is a plus
• Comfort participating in German- and English-speaking C-level discussions with ability to influence executive decision-makers
• Deep understanding of cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP), SaaS delivery models, and modern integration patterns (REST APIs, event-driven architectures, microservices)
• Proven ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels, from developers to board members
• Hands-on mindset with attention to technical details even when working strategically
• Experience with APIs, BPMN, SaaS platforms, AWS technologies, requirements engineering, and the insurance domain strongly preferred
• Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and ArchiMate, plus cloud or architecture certifications, beneficial
• Experience in dynamic environments with agile project management methodologies
• Consulting background is a significant advantage
• Willingness to travel approximately 20–30% within Germany and Switzerland
