Internship AI & Automation – Energy (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential cleantech organization that is building innovative energy management solutions across Europe. We're seeking a motivated AI & Automation Intern to join their Energy team in Berlin for a minimum 5-month engagement (6 months preferred).

This is a hands-on role where you'll take ownership of automation projects from analysis through implementation, working directly with process and operations teams to deliver measurable impact. You'll gain deep exposure to operational workflows while building solutions that scale across thousands of customers.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end automation projects, from analyzing operational processes to building and deploying solutions
• Work directly within operational workflows to understand processes at the individual customer level before automating them
• Collaborate with process and operations teams to identify challenges and build data-driven solutions
• Utilize automation platforms (n8n, Make, Zapier) and coding agents to connect systems and develop application prototypes
• Establish robust data structures and maintain comprehensive documentation in knowledge databases
• Independently evaluate new AI tools and automation platforms, proposing improvements to existing processes

What We're Looking For

• Currently studying Business Informatics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a comparable field—or demonstrable tech experience in automation
• Practical hands-on experience with automation platforms such as n8n, Make, or Zapier
• Strong hands-on mentality with the ability to proactively drive initiatives forward
• Availability for a minimum 5-month internship (6 months strongly preferred)
• Fluent German communication skills (minimum C1 level) are essential for this position
• Eagerness for a steep learning curve and openness to feedback
• Prior experience in the energy sector is a plus but not required—motivation and willingness to learn are what matter most
