About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential renewable energy technology client seeking a Working Student in Accounting & Finance for their Munich office. This hybrid role offers genuine responsibility from day one and the potential to transition into a permanent position upon graduation.

Our client is a growing organization operating across German and US entities, working at the intersection of clean energy and data analytics. You'll join their finance team during an exciting growth phase, contributing to real operations rather than observing from the sidelines.

Working hours are flexible (particularly around exams), requiring at least 15 hours per week with one day in their central Munich headquarters—though you're welcome more frequently if you prefer.

Responsibilities

• Lead portions of Accounts Payable for German and US entities—reviewing invoices for correctness under HGB/US-GAAP, applying appropriate accounts and cost centers, and preparing payments for approval
• Assist with monthly closing activities by coordinating input from internal stakeholders and tax advisors, ensuring accurate expense recording, complete supporting documentation, and proper reconciliation
• Support monthly financial reporting, including cost and budget tracking
• Own documentation of finance processes, creating guides for auditors, tax advisors, and colleagues
• Potentially support expense management optimization, accounts receivable, order processing, invoicing, and process improvements

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or comparable field
• Hands-on mindset—you identify what needs doing, take ownership, and deliver reliable results
• Comfortable working with financial data and spreadsheets
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly to internal and external stakeholders at the appropriate level of detail
• Strong interest in practical accounting work with basic knowledge of accounting principles (HGB, US-GAAP)
• Interest in tax, cost, and budget reporting
• Fluent English (required) and German at B2 level or higher
• Prior exposure to DATEV, QuickBooks, or Spendesk is advantageous but not essential
