Aero Software Developer

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential motorsport organization seeking an experienced Aero Software Developer to join their high-performance engineering team in Bicester, United Kingdom.

In this role, you will:

• Work as part of a team of engineers and data scientists to develop and improve software for efficient aerodynamic analysis
• Design and implement desktop and web applications to present data from multiple sources, with a focus on CFD data
• Contribute to the redesign and optimization of backend systems used to process and serve CFD data
• Design and implement efficient workflows for CFD post-processing
• Collaborate closely with aerodynamic engineers to improve the clarity and accessibility of complex data
• Help set future directions in data analysis and data visualization
• Develop high-performance data access tools and APIs for integration with existing systems
• Design, code, test, release, and maintain data analysis applications
• Stay current with the latest advancements in software design and data science
• Optimize user interfaces for presentation and interaction with engineering data

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
• At least 3 years of professional experience as a software developer
• Proven programming skills with strong knowledge of Python and JavaScript
• Experience with data organization and repository creation using appropriate database and file technologies
• Experience working on complex projects
• Familiarity with working in a Linux environment
• Strong knowledge of PyQt technology and deployment to Windows/Linux OS
• Knowledge of web technologies (Django is an advantage)
• Software release, update, and deployment techniques
• Fluent in English

Preferred experience:

• Familiarity with VTK, ParaView, and/or PyVista
• Scientific data visualization, especially 3D data
• Knowledge of containerized development and deployment
• Containerized deployment on Kubernetes
• Familiarity with HPC environments
• Data science techniques and methodologies
