About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential SaaS organization in their search for a Staff Product Manager, Fintech New Bets. This is a high-impact individual contributor role where you'll discover, validate, and launch the next generation of financial products for small business owners.

You'll take loosely defined opportunities in areas like insurance, consumer financing, spend management, and business banking, and turn them into live products with real customers and real revenue. This is zero-to-one product building at the intersection of fintech domain expertise and strategic product leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Take new financial product bets from zero to one by framing customer problems, sizing opportunities, designing lean validation experiments, and making evidence-based go/no-go recommendations
  • Lead build-vs-buy-vs-partner decisions, evaluating embedded finance, banking-as-a-service, insurance, and lending partners on capabilities, economics, risk, and customer experience
  • Ship and scale first versions of new financial products, defining MVP, sequencing roadmaps, and iterating quickly based on customer and market feedback
  • Partner with Design, Engineering, Data, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and GTM teams to navigate the regulatory and operational realities of launching financial products
  • Use qualitative and quantitative insights—including unit economics, adoption signals, and risk performance—to form conviction about which bets deserve further investment
  • Elevate product thinking across the organization, shaping how teams evaluate new opportunities, frame trade-offs, and make decisions in emerging financial domains
  • Balance the urgency of proving new bets quickly with the rigor required to build durable, trustworthy financial products at scale

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

  • Extensive product management experience with a proven track record of taking new products from concept to launch, ideally including at least one financial product with meaningful revenue accountability
  • Experience operating at a staff or principal level—defining strategy across ambiguous problem spaces, influencing without authority, and shaping org-wide product direction
  • Deep familiarity with fintech products such as card issuing, spend management, business banking, insurance, or lending, and understanding of the partner, risk, and compliance ecosystems behind them
  • Exceptional product sense and commercial rigor—ability to pressure-test unit economics and business cases as comfortably as critiquing customer flows
  • Bias for validated learning: knowing how to de-risk a bet cheaply, when to double down, and when to walk away
  • Ability to connect deep customer insight to long-term business strategy and communicate clearly to senior stakeholders, external partners, and cross-functional teams
  • High bar for quality, ownership, and outcomes, combined with judgment to know when to go deep and when to zoom out

Bonus qualifications:

  • Experience launching embedded fintech products in a vertical SaaS or platform business
  • Experience working with banking-as-a-service or embedded finance providers, card networks, sponsor banks, insurance carriers or MGAs, or consumer lending partners
  • Experience serving small businesses, particularly in home and field services

Location: This role is open to candidates based in Edmonton, Toronto, Vancouver, or Kitchener-Waterloo, Canada. In-person collaboration at hub offices is expected.
