Software Engineer, Application Integration

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential healthcare technology organization in search of a Software Engineer, Application Integration. Our client is focused on delivering real-time clinical insights to healthcare providers, and this role sits at the critical intersection of their platform and Electronic Health Record systems used by major health systems across the country.

In this role, you'll serve as the technical lead for integrating our client's platform into complex EHR environments. You'll work directly with hospital IT teams and clinical informaticists to ensure life-saving insights reach clinicians at the point of care. This is a high-impact position where your engineering work directly supports better patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Build and configure full-stack application integrations across EHR systems, coordinating with client technical and clinical informatics teams to deliver clinical decision support tools to frontline providers
• Implement automated integration testing and troubleshoot issues in real-time, working directly with client technical teams and clinicians during testing phases to ensure smooth deployments
• Execute production deployments and serve as the technical point of contact during go-live periods, providing clear status updates to cross-functional teams and resolving application integration issues
• Develop integration frameworks and tooling, leveraging automation and modern AI capabilities, to scale platform integrations efficiently
• Collaborate with implementation managers, clinical integration specialists, and client technical teams to align the technical workstream with broader project goals

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• 3+ years building and deploying full-stack applications into production, including integration with external APIs (React and TypeScript preferred)
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to investigate and resolve application issues end-to-end
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) in production environments
• Experience writing automated integration and end-to-end tests for production systems
• Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions and work effectively with product managers and stakeholders

Preferred:

• Experience building EHR-embedded applications such as SMART on FHIR, CDS Hooks, or Epic integrations
• Experience supporting production deployments through go-live, including on-call rotations and production issue triage
• Experience working with enterprise healthcare customers and responding to their technical requirements
• Experience building internal tooling or automation to improve engineering velocity
