We are representing a fast-growing European fintech client seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to drive their Financial Institutions sales across Germany. Our client provides investment infrastructure solutions to leading banks, brokers, and wealth managers throughout Europe.

In this role, you will own the full sales cycle with financial institutions, building consultative relationships and helping major players digitise their investment propositions. You'll work directly with senior leadership to shape commercial strategy while maintaining high autonomy in your client engagements.

This is a Berlin-based position with remote flexibility across Germany. Native or C2-level German fluency is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own the complete cross-functional sales cycle from prospecting through contract closure to meet and exceed revenue targets
  • Build the pipeline by consultatively understanding prospective clients' needs and developing compelling commercial proposals
  • Create and deliver sales materials that effectively communicate value propositions to financial services decision-makers
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and industry contacts through regular outreach and networking events
  • Contribute to sales enablement and process improvement by sharing market and client insights with internal teams
  • Ensure seamless client transitions by coordinating effectively with implementation and onboarding teams
  • Document activities and maintain diligent records of pipeline status and client interactions

What We're Looking For

Essential qualifications:

  • 4–6+ years of experience in B2B sales roles within investments, banking, or wealth management sectors, ideally working with API-based or infrastructure products
  • Alternatively, 4–6+ years at a specialised financial services consultancy working on IT infrastructure projects within investment services
  • Direct experience with investments and securities trading, coupled with strong interest in software- and infrastructure-as-a-service solutions
  • Demonstrated expertise in consultative or solution-based B2B sales methodologies, always starting from client needs
  • Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills with ability to communicate effectively across diverse groups and challenge assumptions
  • Excellent relationship-building and negotiation capabilities, with proven ability to handle objections and present compelling pitches
  • Hands-on project management skills with ability to maintain consistent communication across multiple stakeholders and ensure reliable documentation
  • Native or C2-level German fluency strongly preferred
  • Based in Berlin or elsewhere in Germany

Advantageous experience:

  • Previous sales experience targeting banks or wealth managers
  • Deep understanding of the investment industry landscape, current trends, and competitive dynamics
  • Established professional network within the German investment sector
