About This Opportunity

We are representing a global conservation organization with a network spanning South America, Central America, Africa, and Asia. Our client seeks a Senior Cloud Engineer to anchor their Azure infrastructure and ensure mission-critical systems remain secure, resilient, and available across dozens of country offices.

This role demands hands-on technical leadership—building VMs from the ground up, automating identity workflows, and designing disaster recovery strategies that protect operations when it matters most. You'll be the go-to expert for Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, and M365, solving complex problems while keeping both technical and non-technical stakeholders aligned.

Responsibilities

• Architect and manage Azure infrastructure: provision subscriptions, deploy Windows/SQL/Red Hat VMs, and maintain production and staging environments.
• Configure Microsoft Entra tenants, SSO through Azure Enterprise Apps, and enforce RBAC and identity policies.
• Automate workflows using PowerShell and Graph API for deployment orchestration and routine tasks.
• Design backup strategies and disaster recovery playbooks that ensure rapid recovery from outages.
• Troubleshoot networking across VNETs, sites, and tenants; manage firewalls, load balancers, and DNS (Azure + Cloudflare).
• Provision and manage access for technologies including Fabric, Power BI, and Azure Foundry.
• Integrate and govern Microsoft Copilot for M365, Copilot Studio, and Copilot Agents, including data access controls.
• Lead projects end-to-end, communicating clearly with stakeholders and documenting solutions thoroughly.
• Provide after-hours or weekend support for critical outages and planned maintenance as needed.

What We're Looking For

• Degree in IT or related field plus a minimum of 8 years of IT experience, including at least 6 years in infrastructure or cloud engineering.
• Must have: Verbal and written fluency in both English and Spanish.
• Extensive hands-on experience managing highly available Azure production systems at enterprise scale.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure services, cloud architecture, cloud networking, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and Windows/Linux servers.
• Proficiency managing Windows domains and Active Directory.
• Strong scripting skills in PowerShell and Graph API for automation and deployment.
• Proven history building, deploying, and managing virtual machines in Azure from inception.
• Structured diagnostic thinking for complex cloud or hybrid system issues.
• Broad expertise across infrastructure, identity and access management, and emerging AI-driven automation technologies.
• Ability to multitask effectively in complex technical environments.
