About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential commodities intelligence organization seeking a Senior Research Analyst specializing in fuel oil markets. This London-based role offers the opportunity to leverage your deep market expertise within a growing research function that supports clients navigating complex energy markets.
As a senior member of the research team, you will conduct rigorous market intelligence on fuel oil and residue markets, with primary focus on West of Suez regions and coverage of Middle Eastern markets. Your analysis will directly inform client decision-making and expand the organization's European footprint.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive market intelligence and fundamental analysis of fuel oil and feedstock markets, emphasizing West of Suez regions with Middle Eastern coverage
- Identify and communicate key market trends and insights through client-facing reports and materials
- Support pre-sales activities by articulating market perspectives and analytical capabilities
- Build and maintain relationships with mainstream and specialist media to promote research outputs
- Monitor and report on critical developments in fuel oil markets including feedstock dynamics
- Contribute to webinars, external presentations, and thought leadership initiatives
- Collaborate with product and technical teams to enhance client service offerings
What We're Looking For
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or quantitative discipline with demonstrated application of modeling techniques in commercial or research settings
- 5+ years of experience in refined products markets with specific focus on fuel oil (exposure to dirty petroleum products strongly preferred)
- Solid understanding of secondary unit operations modeling and fuel oil fundamentals
- Proven track record producing independent market analysis and communicating insights to diverse audiences
- Advanced proficiency conducting complex analyses across multiple datasets using sophisticated data analytics tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desirable experience:
