Product Manager Autonomous Trucking (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential autonomous systems organization developing cutting-edge ground autonomy solutions for heavy-duty and tactical vehicles. As Product Manager for their autonomous trucking platform, you will own the complete product lifecycle—from strategy and roadmap through certification and commercial launch. This role sits at the critical intersection of customer value, technical feasibility, and commercial viability, requiring someone who can balance ambitious product vision with engineering constraints while maintaining executable roadmaps.

This position is based in Gilching and offers the chance to bring autonomous trucking technology into real-world operations at scale.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end product vision, strategy, and roadmap from discovery through certification, commercial launches, and long-term optimization
• Work directly with customers, end-users, and sales teams to analyze operational demands and translate them into product features and services
• Partner closely with software, hardware, safety, and systems engineering teams on product refinement, planning, and prioritization
• Consolidate customer, user, and field insights to set priorities and continuously convert requirements into shipped capabilities
• Manage strategic relationships with vehicle OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and service providers
• Collaborate with product marketing to design and execute go-to-market plans that drive market leadership
• Make conscious trade-offs between product ambition and engineering reality, ensuring the entire organization can execute against the roadmap

What We're Looking For

• Multiple years of hands-on experience in autonomous trucking, robotics, physical AI, defence tech, or closely related technical fields
• Strong commercial instincts paired with solid technical foundation, enabling seamless liaison between engineering teams and external stakeholders
• Proven track record of taking complex products from initial concept to market launch
• Background in product management, service design, or solution architecture within defence, automotive, or transportation sectors strongly preferred
• Proactive, solution-oriented approach with demonstrated ability to deliver results in fast-paced, high-ambiguity environments
• Fluency in English to engage effectively with global teams and international customers
