Senior Full-stack Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential digital health organization that is expanding operations across North America. Our client is at the forefront of using technology to improve mental health outcomes, with thousands of patients already benefiting from their services daily.

We're seeking a Senior Full-stack Engineer who is motivated by building products that make a real difference in people's lives. You'll ship features end-to-end that patients and clinicians depend on every day, working in an environment where understanding the "why" behind your work matters as much as the "how."

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship full-stack features end-to-end across the entire product ecosystem
• Implement TypeScript/Node.js backend services that meet strict data residency and regulatory compliance standards
• Build React user interfaces for both patient-facing and clinician-facing applications
• Model and manage application data across MongoDB and PostgreSQL databases using regulatory compliance best practices
• Integrate features with ML/AI services while maintaining appropriate safety guardrails
• Shape product decisions by contributing to requirements discussions and challenging approaches that don't serve end users
• Measure and track the impact of features you ship using data-driven approaches
• Treat security, data residency, and compliance as first-class engineering concerns
• Collaborate within cross-functional teams to integrate features smoothly into production
• Participate in code reviews and help establish engineering standards
• Contribute to collaborative error monitoring and alert triage

What We're Looking For

• 4+ years of professional full-stack engineering experience
• Based in Canada and able to work North American business hours (Eastern time preferred) with daily overlap with European colleagues (UTC to UTC+3)
• A proven track record of shipping features with measurable user impact — you should be able to discuss what you built, why it mattered, and how you validated success
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js (familiarity with GraphQL and tRPC preferred)
• Solid production experience building web applications with React
• Comfortable working with PostgreSQL as well as document databases and key-value stores
• Experience deploying and maintaining AWS services in production environments
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitHub Actions
• Proficiency with Git version control
• Bonus: Experience with queue-based systems such as BullMQ and Redis
• Bonus: Prior work in regulated or security-sensitive environments (healthcare, fintech, etc.)
• Bonus: React Native experience
