Senior DevOps Engineer (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their collaborative engineering team. This is a remote opportunity with optional office access in Düsseldorf. You'll work at the intersection of development, operations, and architecture, helping shape cloud platforms and solve complex technical challenges while mentoring engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to architectural decisions and make pragmatic trade-offs across reliability, scalability, security, and cost
• Design, build, and operate secure, scalable, and maintainable cloud platforms and services
• Improve automation, infrastructure as code, deployment processes, and observability
• Work with distributed software, event-driven architectures, and event streaming technologies
• Break complex initiatives into smaller workstreams and deliver value incrementally
• Investigate recurring issues and create lasting solutions rather than short-term fixes
• Share knowledge, mentor less experienced engineers, and promote collaboration and transparency
• Lead technical initiatives and own meaningful technical decisions that impact platform reliability and efficiency

What We're Looking For

• Several years of professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, SRE, or related fields
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-native infrastructure
• Professional experience with Go (Golang), ideally for automation, platform tooling, or backend services
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, asynchronous processing, and event streaming
• Demonstrated expertise with automation, infrastructure as code, continuous delivery, observability, security, and reliability practices
• Ability to make sound architectural decisions and clearly explain technical trade-offs
• Track record of leading technical initiatives and delivering complex work incrementally
• Strong collaboration and mentoring skills with a passion for knowledge sharing
• Ownership mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
