About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential fintech organization that is building AI-powered automation for professional services. They are seeking a Digital Document Review Specialist to join their operations team in München.
In this role, you will review financial documents and transaction data, working directly with AI systems to ensure accuracy. You will validate what the AI suggests, handle exceptions it cannot process, communicate with end users to resolve discrepancies, and provide feedback that shapes how the automation evolves. This is a remote-friendly position based in München, Germany.
This role requires fluency in German (C1/C2) for written client communication. The position is fully remote with optional office access in central München.
Responsibilities
- Review and validate AI-generated suggestions for document processing, including invoice details, tax information, timeframes, and transaction matching
- Identify patterns where automated recognition fails systematically across document types, vendors, currencies, or formats
- Handle complex cases that cannot be automated: unclear payment parties, contradictory assignments, and edge cases without templates
- Research and resolve issues within established review criteria; escalate matters requiring specialized judgment to senior staff
- Request missing documents from clients with clear written instructions and follow up on outstanding items to meet monthly deadlines
- Provide feedback to product and engineering teams based on correction patterns you identify
- Test new automation features against real cases and participate in prioritization decisions
- Monitor data integrations and report system failures or duplicate transaction imports
- Document solutions in a way that enables future automation of similar cases
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Completed vocational training or university degree in any field; career changers welcome
- Analytical thinking: ability to recognize patterns and anomalies in data, draw conclusions from individual cases, and articulate why something is incorrect
- Consistent quality at high volume; thoroughness even when most cases are correct
- Genuine interest in AI and automation; curiosity about why systems make certain suggestions
- Proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets and digital tools; willingness to learn new software quickly
- Clear, friendly written communication in German at C1/C2 level for client correspondence
- Independence and reliability suitable for remote work environments
- Demonstrable interest in developing toward leadership or client responsibility roles
Preferred:
- Commercial understanding of how business transactions flow from invoice to payment
- Previous exposure to accounting, bookkeeping, or commercial administration
- Experience in high-volume data environments such as operations, back office, support, fulfillment, or payment processing
No prior experience in tax advisory or programming is expected.
