Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential digital tax advisory firm based in München seeking a detail-oriented professional for digital document verification. In this role, you will serve as the critical control point between incoming data and automation systems.

You will review AI-generated suggestions for document processing, verifying invoice details, tax identification, time periods, and client assignments. When the system proposes classifications, you confirm, correct, or reject them based on established criteria. You'll monitor data interfaces and flag when integrations fail or duplicate transactions appear.

Complex cases that cannot be resolved automatically—unclear payment partners, contradictory assignments, or situations without templates—will escalate to you. You'll research each scenario and make decisions within defined review criteria, escalating matters requiring tax judgment to licensed professionals. Critically, you'll document your solutions so future similar cases can be automated.

Client communication is a core responsibility. You'll request missing documents in writing with clear deadlines, follow up on outstanding items, and explain in understandable terms why certain documents are insufficient and what alternatives are needed.

Your expert knowledge directly improves the AI. Patterns you recognize and corrections you make become rules, prompts, and model adjustments developed collaboratively with engineering and design teams. You'll test new automation features against real cases and help prioritize what gets automated next.

What We're Looking For

Essential qualifications:

  • Completed vocational training or university degree in any field; career changers explicitly welcome
  • Analytical thinking: you recognize patterns and anomalies in data, draw correct conclusions from individual cases, and can explain why something is incorrect
  • Reliable quality output when handling high case volumes; thoroughness even when automation is mostly correct
  • Genuine interest in AI and automation systems; desire to understand why a system suggests something, not just what it suggests
  • Proficient with Excel/Google Sheets and digital tools; enthusiasm for learning new software quickly
  • Clear, friendly written communication in German (C1/C2 level)—client contact is predominantly written
  • Independence and accountability; remote work requires follow-through on commitments
  • Demonstrable ambition to develop toward leadership or client responsibility roles

Preferred background:

  • Commercial understanding of how business transactions flow from invoice to payment
  • Exposure to bookkeeping, accounting, or commercial processing
  • Experience in high-data-volume environments (operations, back office, support, fulfillment, payment processing)

Tax office experience and programming skills are not expected.
