About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential tax advisory firm in München that is building AI-powered financial document processing systems. They need a detail-oriented professional to work alongside their machine learning platform—reviewing what the AI proposes, handling edge cases it cannot yet resolve, and helping improve the system with every interaction.

This is a minijob position (marginal employment) with complete flexibility over when you work. No tax or accounting background is required.

Responsibilities

• Review AI-generated suggestions for receipt processing: verify invoice details, tax information, time periods, and client assignments
• Approve, correct, or reject automated proposals based on established quality criteria
• Identify systematic recognition errors across document types, vendors, foreign currencies, and formats
• Handle complex cases the AI cannot yet process: unclear payment partners, conflicting assignments, and edge cases without templates
• Research transaction context and make decisions within defined review guidelines (cases requiring tax judgment are escalated to licensed professionals)
• Request missing documents from clients in writing with clear deadlines and follow up asynchronously
• Communicate clearly why certain documents are insufficient or incomplete
• Report recurring error patterns to engineering teams with specific context: what happened, frequency, and expected behavior
• Contribute directly to AI improvement cycles with feedback that gets implemented and tracked

What We're Looking For

Must Have:

• Analytical thinking: recognize patterns and anomalies in data, draw correct conclusions from individual cases, and articulate why something is incorrect
• Consistent quality across high case volumes—especially important when most AI suggestions are correct and exceptions can easily slip through
• Reliability over constant availability: what you commit to gets done within agreed timeframes; when you do it is your choice
• Genuine interest in AI and automation: curiosity about why a system makes certain suggestions, not just what it suggests
• Confident use of Excel/Google Sheets and digital tools; willingness to learn new software quickly
• Clear, friendly written communication in German (C1/C2 level)—client contact is predominantly asynchronous and written
• Quiet workspace and stable internet connection for your work blocks

Nice to Have:

• Commercial understanding: familiarity with how a business transaction flows from invoice to payment
• Any exposure to bookkeeping, accounting, or commercial processing—even if years ago
• Experience in high-volume data environments (operations, back office, support, fulfillment, payments)
• Practical experience with AI tools: prompts, formulas, filters, simple automations

Not Required: Tax qualifications, accounting firm experience, or programming skills
