Regional Sales Director (m/w/d) – Vertriebsleitung Region Süd

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential technology platform in the automotive B2B sector, and we're seeking a Regional Sales Director to lead field sales operations in southern Germany. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll build and coach a high-performing team of eight field sales professionals across the Ulm, Augsburg, and Munich territory.

In this position, you will:

• Build and scale the regional field sales team while establishing a performance-driven culture with individual accountability
• Develop and implement a hybrid sales strategy that combines digital tools with direct customer engagement
• Design and execute structured sales processes with clearly defined roles and responsibilities
• Drive regional growth targets and personally negotiate and close strategic key account deals
• Manage sales performance through data-driven KPIs, forecasts, and AI-based lead prioritization
• Identify optimization opportunities across the customer journey to improve productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction
• Present results through KPI dashboards and business reviews to executive leadership

This is a field-based role working from the greater Ulm area, with approximately 60% customer-facing time and 40% home office initially, moving toward a 50/50 split long-term.

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• At least two years of leadership experience managing a sales team of six or more people
• Proven field sales experience with both hunting (new business) and farming (account growth) models
• Track record selling complex, consultative products requiring strong argumentation and objection handling
• Demonstrated success in team building and performance coaching with operational involvement in day-to-day activities
• Strong command of KPIs, forecasting, and data-driven sales management using tools like Salesforce, Google Workspace, Looker, or Tableau
• German at C2 level and English at minimum B2 level for executive team collaboration

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with scalable sales models in digital environments, ideally in start-up, SaaS, or platform businesses
• Active involvement in designing and implementing AI-supported sales processes
