About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential adtech organization seeking a senior Buyer Development Director to establish and grow their demand-side business across the DACH region. This is a market-entry role based in Munich—the first dedicated Buyer Development position in the region.
You will take direct responsibility for generating revenue across agencies, trading desks, holding companies, and brands. You'll open senior buyer relationships, build commercial pipeline, progress strategic opportunities, and convert demand-side engagement into measurable revenue outcomes.
This begins as a senior individual contributor role. As the DACH market matures, there is clear ambition for you to help build and potentially lead a broader regional Buyer Development function once market proof points have been established.
Responsibilities
- Own revenue growth: Take direct responsibility for generating and growing buyer-led revenue across agencies, holdcos, and clients/brands in DACH. Build and manage qualified pipeline across private marketplaces, curation, supply path optimization, connected TV, data-led activation, premium supply, AI-led solutions, and direct buyer partnerships.
- Convert relationships into commercial outcomes: Use consultative selling, strategic account planning, business cases, quarterly reviews, joint business plans, and deal progression to drive results. Maintain strong commercial discipline around pipeline, forecasting, revenue progression, and opportunity prioritization.
- Build the market: Establish the client's Buyer Development presence in DACH as the first dedicated in-market hire. Create a clear map of priority buyers, agencies, holdcos, brands, demand-side platforms, data partners, senior decision-makers, trading models, and commercial pathways.
- Lay foundations for scale: Build the groundwork for a future regional team, including account prioritization, pipeline discipline, market feedback loops, and cross-functional ways of working.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with Sales, Account Management, Product, Marketing, global Buyer Development, DSP Strategic Partnerships, and Data Partner teams to shape, activate, measure, and scale DACH opportunities. Partner with platform teams to improve buyer access and ensure agency and client demand can be activated efficiently.
- Represent the organization: Serve as a credible senior voice in the DACH programmatic market. Support visibility through senior meetings, client education, industry events, roundtables, and thought leadership around transparency, sustainability, premium supply, curation, data quality, and supply path optimization.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of experience as a senior commercial individual contributor with deep knowledge of the DACH programmatic advertising ecosystem
- Strong network across agencies, holding companies, brands, demand-side platforms, and strategic partners
- Proven track record of revenue ownership, opening senior relationships, building pipeline, and converting strategic opportunities into commercial outcomes
- Credibility with senior clients and partners
- Highly self-motivated, commercially disciplined, and comfortable building a market from an early-stage position
- Fluency in both German and English required
- Humble, driven, and interpersonally smart—someone who values collective achievement, takes initiative, and communicates effectively across functions
