Fördermittelberater / Berater Forschungszulage (m/w/d) – 100 % remote

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential consulting organization based in Germany that specializes in supporting mid-sized companies with research and development funding. Our client has built proprietary software to streamline grant advisory processes, and they work exclusively remote with a flat organizational structure.

As a research funding advisor, you will own client mandates from start to finish. You'll sit down with developers and engineers, listen to what they're building, and shape their work into fundable R&D projects. You'll calculate costs, draft applications, and guide submissions through approval authorities. The technical and strategic decisions are yours to make.

Responsibilities

• Structure funding projects by identifying technical novelty, scientific uncertainty, and work packages from real development activities
• Assess project eligibility early in the process and provide clear technical judgments
• Calculate and document project costs independently, including personnel, contracted research, and internal services, with audit compliance in mind
• Communicate with German funding approval bodies, respond to inquiries during stage-one review processes
• Coordinate closely with clients' tax advisors who handle stage-two submissions
• Lead client engagements including kickoffs, technical interviews, document collection, and timeline management

What We're Looking For

• Completed degree in natural sciences, engineering, or business
• Research background that enables you to distinguish genuine innovation from well-executed routine when speaking with technical teams
• Minimum three years of experience preparing funding applications such as research tax credits, innovation vouchers, or EU programs
• Understanding of what makes an application audit-proof, not just well-written
• Proactive mindset focused on solutions and opportunities rather than problem administration
• Self-directed and reliable work style suited to remote collaboration based on trust
• Excellent written and spoken German for application drafting and authority communication; English is advantageous

Work arrangement: 100% remote, full-time (40 hours/week), permanent contract, immediate start available. Occasional in-person meetings in Düsseldorf or at client sites. Location flexible within Germany.
