Senior Java Fullstack Developer (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential public sector technology organization based in Hamburg. We are seeking a Senior Java Fullstack Developer to join their Finance division and contribute to meaningful digital transformation projects that impact millions of users across Germany.

This role offers approximately 80% remote work with regular on-site collaboration in Hamburg. You'll work on mission-critical applications from backend through frontend, utilizing modern development practices and enterprise-grade technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance backend components using Java/Java EE and Spring framework
• Build modern user interfaces with React and JavaScript/TypeScript
• Implement database access layers and integrate with relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL
• Containerize applications using Docker and manage deployments with Kubernetes
• Integrate and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins to automate build, test, and deployment processes
• Create and execute unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito to ensure software quality

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 5 years of practical software development experience with strong knowledge of Java/Java EE and Spring
• Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript and React for frontend development
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD processes and Jenkins for automated application delivery
• Working knowledge of containerization using Docker and application management with Kubernetes
• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL; familiarity with application servers like JBoss is advantageous
• Ideally, experience with JUnit, Mockito, and test-driven development methodologies
• German language skills at C1 level required; conversational English proficiency
• Willingness to attend regular on-site meetings in Hamburg with approximately 80% remote work
