Senior Sales Consultant Smart Grids (all genders)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential energy technology client in their search for a Senior Sales Consultant to drive smart grid solutions across the DACH region. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely from Germany or hybrid from Cologne.

Our client is at the forefront of the energy transition, developing intelligent grid platforms that help operators modernize their infrastructure. As a key member of their sales team, you'll own strategic customer relationships and guide enterprise clients through complex technical sales cycles.

Responsibilities

• Build and nurture long-term relationships with enterprise customers across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland
• Develop strategic account plans to exceed sales targets and business objectives
• Manage the complete sales cycle from opportunity identification through contract negotiation
• Lead strategic direction for tenders, ensuring customer alignment while collaborating with bid management and sales engineering teams
• Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities within existing accounts to expand platform adoption
• Act as a trusted technology advisor, uncovering customer pain points and matching them to platform capabilities
• Collaborate with marketing, customer success, and product teams to ensure seamless client experiences
• Support product strategy by identifying new customer requirements and market opportunities

What We're Looking For

• University degree in industrial engineering, business administration with technology focus, or comparable qualification
• Proven track record as Key Account Manager or Sales Manager within the energy sector
• Strategic thinking with ability to navigate complex organizational structures and align stakeholders
• Strong communication skills with a confident, solution-oriented approach
• Fluency in both German and English (required)
• High degree of initiative and ability to work independently
• Team player mindset with collaborative working style
• Experience managing enterprise-level technical sales cycles
