Business Segment Lead

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential health insurance organization operating across multiple European markets. This is a strategic leadership role focused on driving market expansion and business development within specific customer segments.

Our client is seeking a Business Segment Lead to own the strategy, P&L, and go-to-market execution for high-potential market segments. You'll work cross-functionally to define value propositions, optimize pricing, and drive growth through both retention and new business development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and articulate a comprehensive vision and strategy for your assigned business segment to achieve market leadership
• Conduct market intelligence activities including competitive analysis, market sizing, and deep customer needs assessment
• Define and refine value propositions and pricing strategies to differentiate from competitors
• Design and execute go-to-market strategies covering both account management (renewal) and business development (expansion)
• Own segment P&L and build investment cases for resource allocation based on ROI projections
• Collaborate with product teams to prioritize roadmap decisions based on market insights and customer feedback
• Work with sales, marketing, insurance, and product teams through transversal influence rather than direct authority
• Explore and develop new distribution channels, sub-segments, and partnership opportunities
• Share best practices and create alignment with other segment leaders across the organization

What We're Looking For

• At least 8 years of experience leading a business unit, product category, or market segment
• Full working proficiency in French (required)
• Advanced English language skills
• Exceptional ability to influence and align stakeholders across organizational boundaries without direct reporting lines
• Strong analytical skills with experience manipulating data to build comprehensive market views
• Business acumen combined with the ability to dive deep into product considerations and trade-offs
• Track record of articulating clear strategies in complex or uncertain environments
• Experience working effectively with senior leadership teams
• Generalist mindset with adaptability across industries rather than deep specialization in one vertical
• Willingness to work in the field alongside team members to learn and support execution
• Based in or willing to relocate to Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Brussels, Madrid, or Barcelona
