About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential manufacturing organization in Essen that is building out its digital capabilities. Our talent team is seeking an AI Solutions Engineer to join a small, focused team driving technological transformation from concept through production deployment.
This role sits at the intersection of AI, software development, automation, and business processes. You'll have direct influence on strategic digitalization projects with short decision-making cycles and close collaboration with leadership.
Responsibilities
- Analyze existing business processes and identify automation and AI opportunities
- Develop AI agents and automation solutions for internal business processes
- Build interfaces between ERP systems, databases, and modern AI systems
- Create prototypes and MVPs for new digital business models
- Work with local LLMs, agent systems, and modern AI-assisted development workflows
- Research and evaluate emerging AI technologies
- Contribute to building a future digitalization and AI unit
- Support executive leadership with strategic technology decisions
What We're Looking For
Required qualifications:
- 2–5 years of practical experience in software development, automation, or AI projects
- Strong Python skills
- Experience with APIs, data integration, and modern development tools
- Interest in Large Language Models (LLMs), agent systems, and AI-assisted software development
- Experience with Git and collaborative software development
- Ability to independently implement technical solutions from concept to production
- Understanding of operational workflows and enthusiasm for collaborating with business departments
- Good German and English language skills
Bonus qualifications:
- Experience with Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI-coding tools
- Experience with n8n, Make, or comparable automation platforms
- Experience with ERP systems
- Experience with document processing (PDF, OCR, Excel)
- Open-source contributions or personal software projects
- Experience with local LLMs, Ollama, vLLM, or comparable technologies
