Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential industrial infrastructure organization seeking a Field Service Mechanic to support the mechanical assembly, testing, and commissioning of emergency power generation systems within a data center project.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Mechanical assembly and completion of generator and emergency power systems
• Supporting mechanical commissioning of installations
• Inspecting mechanical components and assemblies prior to commissioning
• Performing visual, functional, and leak testing
• Installing and testing piping, hoses, valves, and mechanical connections
• Checking and tightening bolted and flanged connections
• Supporting work on fuel, cooling, and exhaust systems
• Troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues
• Performing rework and correcting identified defects
• Supporting functional tests and system start-up
• Documenting completed work and identified deviations
• Coordinating with commissioning engineers, supervisors, electricians, and other trades
• Adhering to applicable safety and construction site regulations

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Completed technical training as Industrial Mechanic, Plant Mechanic, Mechatronics Technician, Vehicle/Commercial Vehicle Mechanic, Agricultural and Construction Equipment Mechatronics Technician, or comparable qualification
• Strong practical mechanical knowledge
• Experience in assembly, service, maintenance, or commissioning of machinery and equipment
• Confident use of hand tools and assembly equipment
• Ability to read technical drawings and assembly documentation
• Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style
• Willingness to undertake extended project assignments
• Team player with reliable work habits

Preferred experience:

• Diesel engines and generators, emergency power systems, cooling and fuel systems
• Pumps, valves, and piping construction
• Mechanical plant assembly
• Maintenance and troubleshooting on industrial machinery
• Industrial construction site or field service work
• English language skills for on-site communication

This position is based in Birkenheide and involves hands-on work within an international project team at a data center facility in Frankfurt. We are specifically seeking a practical, hands-on professional who can identify mechanical problems on-site, analyze them systematically, and resolve them collaboratively with the commissioning team.
