About This Opportunity
We are representing a fast-scaling insurtech organization that is transforming how claims are processed across multiple product lines. Our client operates remotely across the UK and is experiencing exceptional growth as they deploy AI-driven claims solutions for major insurance carriers and corporate clients.
They are seeking a Claims Handler – Gadget & Warranty to join their Technical Claims Support Team in a critical quality assurance and authorization capacity. This role serves as the final checkpoint before claim settlements are approved, requiring strong technical judgment, analytical rigor, and the confidence to challenge decisions when warranted.
Responsibilities
- Review claim settlements at the authorization stage across multiple insurance products, acting as the final control point before payment approval
- Independently assess policy coverage, supporting evidence, and settlement calculations; make confident decisions to authorize, return for revision, or escalate claims
- Complete Quality Assurance reviews across all product lines, ensuring claims handling meets policy requirements, partner standards, and internal controls
- Identify and prevent financial leakage, incorrect settlements, and customer or financial risks before they materialize
- Provide clear, constructive, evidence-based feedback to Claims Handlers, confidently challenging decisions when technical review reveals issues
- Analyze QA, authorization, and leakage data to identify trends, recurring errors, training needs, and process or control gaps
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for claims processes, guidance documents, and quality controls based on root-cause analysis
- Maintain accurate decision records while effectively managing and prioritizing competing QA and authorization workloads
- Build technical knowledge across all product lines, partner requirements, and internal processes to work confidently in a multi-product environment
- Collaborate with Claims Operations teams and the wider Technical Claims Support function
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of claims authorization experience within an insurance claims team, with demonstrated responsibility for reviewing and making settlement decisions
- 3+ years working across two or more insurance product lines such as Pet, Travel, Property, Auto, Gadget, or similar products in a claims capacity
- Strong technical claims knowledge with the confidence to independently review, challenge, and make evidence-based decisions
- Exceptional attention to detail, particularly when reviewing policy coverage, supporting documentation, and settlement calculations
- Strong analytical skills with experience identifying financial leakage, operational trends, recurring errors, and process or control weaknesses
- Ability to confidently provide clear, constructive feedback and articulate the rationale behind technical decisions
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize varied workloads based on risk, financial value, and urgency
- Adaptable and comfortable rapidly learning new products, policy wordings, and processes in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Based in the UK and able to work remotely
