VP Finance

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential B2B SaaS organization in their search for a VP Finance. This is a rare opportunity to build a finance function from the ground up within a fast-growing technology company based in London.

You will serve as the sole internal finance leader initially, establishing robust financial planning, reporting, and operational processes that enable confident scaling. This role requires a builder who can balance hands-on execution with strategic thinking, working closely with leadership to provide financial insight that drives decision-making.

The position is hybrid in London and offers the chance to shape a modern, automated finance function that leverages AI and best-in-class systems rather than scaling linearly with headcount.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end finance function as the first internal finance hire, establishing planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes
• Build and maintain the company operating model including revenue tracking, ARR analysis, hiring plans, cash runway, and scenario modeling
• Produce high-quality financial reporting for leadership, the Board, and investors
• Manage cash flow, treasury oversight, working capital, and coordinate with external finance partners on bookkeeping and compliance
• Develop scalable quote-to-cash processes alongside RevOps and Legal teams, ensuring strong financial controls
• Own financial compliance across UK and US entities, including tax requirements and coordination with external advisers
• Analyze unit economics, gross margins, and customer profitability to inform capital allocation decisions
• Support commercial teams with financial analysis on customer profitability, pricing structures, and major opportunities
• Implement modern finance systems and automation to increase operational leverage as the business scales
• Support future fundraising through financial modeling, investor reporting, and due diligence preparation
• Build and eventually lead a lean, high-performing finance team as complexity grows

What We're Looking For

• Experience leading finance within high-growth B2B SaaS or technology companies
• Strong background in FP&A, strategic finance, or commercial finance with proven ability to build financial models and planning processes
• Comfortable as a hands-on individual contributor who can build functions from first principles
• Track record producing Board and investor reporting and supporting fundraising or due diligence processes
• Strong commercial acumen with ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights
• Experience improving finance systems, processes, and operational workflows
• Interest in AI and automation with desire to build a modern, efficient finance function
• Highly proactive, organized, and comfortable operating independently in fast-moving environments
• Excellent communication skills with ability to partner effectively with leadership teams
