About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential data privacy consultancy based in Karlsruhe. They are seeking a junior to mid-level data protection consultant with a legal background to join their growing practice serving clients across Germany.

This role offers structured onboarding with increasing responsibility as you develop your advisory capabilities. You'll work with clients ranging from social organizations to software companies, helping them navigate GDPR compliance, data security frameworks, and digital transformation initiatives.

Location: Karlsruhe, Germany
Employment Type: Full-time or part-time available
Remote Work: Up to two days per week mobile working (adjusted based on part-time arrangement)
Language Requirements: German C1 minimum, English B2

Responsibilities

• Support clients with ongoing data protection implementation, gradually taking ownership of standardized tasks and manageable client accounts
• Address typical GDPR matters including privacy notices, data processing agreements, subject rights requests, breach notifications, records of processing activities, and internal policies
• Review documentation and situations using established procedures, developing clear recommendations for clients
• Conduct client conversations with increasing independence, learning to gather critical information and explain compliance requirements effectively
• Collaborate with senior colleagues on complex legal, technical, or organizational questions
• Prepare and eventually deliver training sessions and client meetings
• Contribute to sophisticated projects such as data protection impact assessments, software implementations, Microsoft 365 deployments, or AI application reviews
• Document advisory work systematically using existing templates, checklists, and internal standards
• Propose improvements to workflows and templates as your experience grows

What We're Looking For

• Completed degree in law, business law, information management, business informatics, or comparable qualification with data protection relevance
• Solid foundational knowledge of data protection law and genuine interest in applying it practically in advisory contexts
• Ability to work through structured assignments independently while recognizing when to seek guidance on complex matters
• Skill in absorbing, organizing, and clearly communicating intricate situations
• Comfort with client communication and desire to progressively handle challenging advisory scenarios autonomously
• German language proficiency at C1 level minimum for understanding and explaining complex legal, technical, and organizational topics
• English proficiency around B2 level for processing English-language privacy, contractual, and technical documentation
• Careful, reliable work approach with willingness to independently research new topics
• Solution-oriented mindset with strong service mentality toward clients
• Prior practical experience in data protection, consulting, or related fields helpful but not required
