(Senior) IT Systems Engineer (Backup/Storage) (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential IT infrastructure provider in Germany seeking a Senior IT Systems Engineer specializing in Backup and Storage solutions. Our client operates multiple high-security data centers and provides enterprise-grade services to organizations across various sectors. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex infrastructure projects while collaborating with experienced technical teams.

This position is available in Nuremberg with flexible remote options throughout Germany.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex data center projects focusing on storage and backup solutions, including block, file, and object storage systems
• Deploy and manage backup solutions in virtualized environments using CommVault and Veeam
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all implemented solutions
• Collaborate closely with virtualization and network teams to optimize infrastructure performance
• Provide technical consultation and support to sales teams during customer engagement and proposal development
• Automate and optimize recurring operational tasks to improve efficiency
• Monitor cloud innovations and maintain strong relationships with technology vendors and partners
• Evaluate new products and solutions to advance the organization's IT architecture and processes

What We're Looking For

• Completed degree in IT, vocational training as IT Specialist for System Integration (Fachinformatiker für Systemintegration), or equivalent qualification
• Several years of professional experience with backup technologies in enterprise environments
• Strong expertise in at least one of the following solutions: CommVault or Veeam
• Proficiency with PowerShell, REST APIs, and version control systems such as GitLab or GitHub
• Hands-on experience with NetApp storage solutions and S3 object storage
• Solid knowledge of automation techniques and high-availability systems
• NetApp, CommVault, or other enterprise vendor certifications (Admin or Architect level) are highly desirable
• Excellent German and English language skills, both written and verbal
• Strong team collaboration abilities with high motivation and eagerness to learn
