Head of Americas Talent Acquisition

We are representing a global leader in life sciences and diagnostics instrumentation serving laboratories worldwide. Our client is seeking a Head of Americas Talent Acquisition to lead hiring strategy and execution across the region. This is a high-impact leadership role overseeing the full recruiting function for a scientific organization that employs thousands of professionals across pharma, biotech, clinical, and environmental markets.

As a member of the senior Talent Acquisition leadership team, you will own the recruiting engine for the Americas—leading a team of talent acquisition professionals, partnering with executives on workforce planning, and building the processes and employer brand that attract exceptional scientific, engineering, commercial, and operations talent.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute the Americas talent acquisition strategy, translating business objectives and headcount plans into hiring roadmaps across R&D, manufacturing, field service, commercial, and corporate functions
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Lead, Senior, and TA Partners; set clear performance goals and build a high-performance, inclusive recruiting culture
• Serve as a trusted advisor to C-level and VP stakeholders on organizational design, market intelligence, compensation trends, and availability of specialized scientific and technical talent
• Partner with Finance and HR leadership on annual and quarterly workforce planning, capacity modeling, and hiring prioritization
• Drive predictable delivery against hiring targets across high-volume, niche scientific/technical, and executive searches; personally lead select senior-level searches
• Build and continuously improve recruiting processes, interviewer training programs, and candidate experience from first contact through offer acceptance
• Define and report on key TA metrics including time-to-fill, pipeline conversion, offer-accept rate, quality of hire, cost per hire, and source effectiveness; use data to drive strategic decisions
• Manage the regional TA technology stack, vendor relationships, and agency budgets
• Build talent pipelines for hard-to-fill scientific and engineering roles through university partnerships, early-career programs, industry associations, and scientific communities

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 10+ years of talent acquisition experience, including 4+ years leading and scaling recruiting teams across multiple countries in the Americas
• Proven track record delivering both volume and senior-level hiring in life sciences, diagnostics, biotech, medical technology, scientific instrumentation, or related technology sectors
• Experience recruiting specialized STEM talent including scientists, engineers, and technical field/service roles with understanding of what motivates these candidate populations
• Direct partnership experience with C-level and VP stakeholders on workforce planning and organizational design in global, matrixed organizations
• Strong analytical skills and business fluency—you manage TA as a business function with dashboards, forecasts, and capacity models, optimizing for efficiency and thoughtful design
• Deep knowledge of sourcing strategies, employer branding, structured interviewing, and modern recruiting technologies
• Working knowledge of US employment and hiring compliance, including experience in regulated and/or federal contractor environments; familiarity with Canadian and Latin American hiring practices strongly preferred
• Exceptional communication and influencing skills with ability to set direction, gain buy-in, and maintain high standards with senior leaders

Preferred:

• Experience supporting hiring for technology, product, and AI talent in addition to manufacturing, R&D, commercial, and corporate functions
• Experience scaling hiring in key Americas markets outside the US including Mexico, Brazil, and Canada
• Experience with TA Advisor models and methodologies
• Experience implementing or migrating an ATS and building TA analytics infrastructure
