About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential European MarTech consultancy seeking a Director AI & Automation to join their management team. This is a senior leadership role with full ownership of technology strategy, architecture, and AI transformation across both internal operations and client delivery.

Our client has been working with AI and machine learning for years, implementing solutions like predictive lead scoring. They are now professionalizing this capability with a dedicated management seat to drive enterprise-wide transformation. You will collaborate directly with executive leadership on strategy, revenue, and market positioning.

Responsibilities

• Own all technical and architectural decisions across the organization's systems and define the evolution of internal and client-facing technology stacks
• Design and execute an AI-first strategy end-to-end, from internal tooling to productized service offerings for enterprise clients, including methodology, pricing, and delivery models
• Lead client engagements on marketing automation architecture, including integrations with CRM and MarTech systems
• Drive AI adoption in client projects within the Adobe and marketing automation ecosystem
• Embed AI capabilities into delivery practice through tooling, playbooks, and governance frameworks
• Enable and upskill consulting and delivery teams on AI methodology and tooling, with clear adoption metrics
• Represent the organization's AI positioning externally through speaking engagements at industry events and thought leadership content
• Produce technical articles and blog content establishing market leadership in AI for MarTech

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience owning technology strategy and architecture at a senior or principal level, ideally in consulting, agency, or MarTech environments
• Degree in Business Informatics, Mathematics, Digitalization, Engineering, or comparable qualification
• Track record leading digital transformation initiatives and process automation with strong project management skills
• Deep, hands-on familiarity with AI and LLM tooling and operationalizing these technologies in real delivery settings
• Technical understanding and ideally programming skills in Python and API/interface integration
• Expertise in data structures and data management
• Experience with the Adobe B2B marketing stack, particularly marketing automation platforms
• Analytical thinking with structured, solution-oriented approach
• Strong communicator credible in front of clients, teams, and at industry events; able to bridge business and IT
• Self-driven with genuine enthusiasm for pushing change forward
• Fluent English required; German is a strong plus but not mandatory
• Based in Europe
