Fund Operations Manager (Accounting experience)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential U.S.-based investment management firm seeking a Fund Operations Manager to join their growing platform. This is a fully remote role based in Colombia, working U.S. Eastern Time hours (9:00 AM–5:00 PM ET).

This position offers significant ownership over critical fund operations processes, including the monthly NAV cycle, investor transactions, fund accounting, and management company financials. You'll work directly with senior leadership and have the opportunity to build scalable operational infrastructure for a sophisticated alternative investment platform.

Responsibilities

NAV & Fund Accounting

• Own and drive the monthly NAV process from start to final sign-off
• Coordinate month-end activities with fund administrators and external providers
• Prepare and review monthly NAVs, identifying and resolving discrepancies before leadership review
• Reconcile positions and cash across internal calculations, shadow records, and administrator records
• Maintain accurate fund performance records including returns, positions, and expenses
• Ensure fund accounting records remain audit-ready

Investor Operations

• Process investor subscriptions, redemptions, and transfers accurately and on time
• Own KYC/AML onboarding processes and maintain accurate investor registers
• Coordinate capital calls, distributions, fee calculations, and wire approvals
• Serve as point of contact for investors, handling operational questions professionally
• Coordinate with external administrators and service providers on investor-related requests

Investor Reporting

• Produce quarterly fact sheets and investor performance reporting
• Support quarterly fund-of-funds reporting and commentary processes
• Maintain complete and organized NAV records
• Identify opportunities to automate recurring reporting processes

Management Company Accounting

• Manage management company books including AP, AR, bookkeeping, and month-end close
• Prepare recurring financial reporting including KPIs and expense tracking
• Coordinate invoices, payments, and expense management
• Bring bookkeeping and reporting processes in-house while improving automation

Fund Formation & Launch

• Support operational setup and launch of new funds
• Coordinate account openings, documentation, and required registrations
• Establish operational infrastructure for new fund structures

Provider Coordination & Controls

• Manage day-to-day coordination with fund administrators, transfer agents, prime brokers, and banks
• Maintain strong controls around operating and fund accounts
• Document fund operations procedures and build scalable operational playbooks
• Continuously improve, streamline, and automate fund operations

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• C2/near-native English proficiency, written and spoken
• 5+ years of hands-on fund operations experience within a fund administrator, hedge fund, private markets manager, fund-of-funds, asset manager, or similar investment environment
• Strong hands-on experience managing the NAV cycle, investor transactions, and capital activity
• Strong fund accounting foundation including NAV review, position and cash reconciliation, P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow
• Ability to independently identify and resolve errors in monthly NAVs before final approval
• Hands-on experience with subscriptions, redemptions, transfers, KYC/AML, capital calls, distributions, and fee calculations
• Experience coordinating with fund administrators, transfer agents, prime brokers, and banks
• Hands-on accounting experience with AP, AR, bookkeeping, month-end close, and financial reporting
• Experience communicating directly with investors or external financial partners
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong controls mindset
• High level of ownership, judgment, discretion, and follow-through
• Ability to work independently and manage critical financial processes end-to-end
• Availability during U.S. Eastern business hours (9:00 AM–5:00 PM ET)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience within alternative investments or asset management
• Fund-of-funds or multi-strategy investment experience
• Experience working with multiple funds simultaneously
• Experience with feeder funds, holding-company structures, or onshore/offshore investment structures
• Experience supporting new fund launches and fund formation
• Experience working directly with founders, investors, and external financial service providers
• Experience using AI and automation to improve reconciliation, reporting, or recurring fund operations processes

Pay
