Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer, Enterprise – Connecticut

Our talent team is representing a confidential enterprise technology organization seeking a Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer to join their team in Connecticut. This role offers the chance to work with cutting-edge data storage solutions while partnering with enterprise clients to solve complex technical challenges.

As a Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer, you'll serve as a technical advisor during the sales cycle, translating customer business needs into innovative solutions. You'll work closely with account managers and channel partners to drive revenue growth while demonstrating technical leadership in storage architectures and enterprise infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep understanding of customer business drivers and decision-making processes
• Connect technology solutions to measurable business outcomes for enterprise clients
• Partner with account managers, specialists, and channel partners to create seamless customer experiences and drive net new business
• Lead technical evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations
• Build and deliver technical product and architecture presentations to secure technical wins
• Capture requirements and translate customer needs into innovative solutions
• Contribute to or lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs
• Stay current with competitive landscape and market trends to drive thought leadership
• Collaborate with product and technical marketing teams to produce supporting materials such as whitepapers and web presentations

What We're Looking For

• Pre-sales experience required
• 5+ years of relevant experience in technology, design, and communications; experience supporting enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software sales preferred
• Deep understanding of multi-tiered client/server and web-based computing solution architecture, design, and implementation
• Superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures (FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN)
• Experience with Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environments
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native architecture, on-premises solutions, public cloud, provisioning automation, and containers
• Familiarity with VMware, local area networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking
• Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, containers, Kubernetes, and microservices architectures a plus
• Knowledge of modern web architecture (LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS well-architected framework, microservices)
• Familiarity with storage-intensive applications and their requirements such as structured databases (SQL, Oracle) highly desirable
• Proven track record targeting new prospects and converting them into clients
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Passion for technology and explaining new platforms and concepts to customers
