Data Scientist

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential fintech client searching for a Data Scientist to join their analytics team. In this remote role, you will blend analytics, data mining, machine learning, and software engineering to build solutions that drive measurable business impact.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Building, maintaining, and improving decision systems and predictive models that support competitive advantage
• Exploring new internal and external data sources to improve model performance
• Designing, implementing, and analyzing in-market experiments testing new algorithms, technologies, and processes
• Prototyping solutions to business problems using cutting-edge technologies
• Recommending and supporting strategic changes through rigorous analytics and creative problem solving
• Identifying, evaluating, and helping implement advanced analytics methods
• Collaborating with a collegial team of like-minded data scientists

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 2+ years of data science experience
• Master's degree in a quantitative or technical field (Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science)
• Experience with R, Python, machine learning tools, and SQL
• Evidence of applying advanced models to real-world problems
• Ability to craft rigorous research and evaluation designs
• Curiosity and adaptability as AI-enabled tools continue to evolve in the workplace

Bonus qualifications:

• Experience in engineering environments
• Knowledge of DevOps and Git
• A track record of agentic AI use and implementation
