Aaamidatlantic is hiring an Associate Retail Travel Agent for our North Plainfield, NJ location. This is a full-time position where you'll help customers plan their dream vacations, business trips, and travel experiences while building expertise in the travel industry.
Role Overview
As an Associate Retail Travel Agent, you'll be the customer-facing expert helping travel seekers navigate their options, design itineraries, and book their trips. Working in-person at our North Plainfield office, you'll combine your enthusiasm for travel with solid organizational skills to deliver exceptional service to every customer who walks through the door.
Key Responsibilities
- Listen to customer needs and recommend travel destinations, accommodations, and itineraries that match their interests and budget
- Book flights, hotels, car rentals, cruises, tours, and travel insurance using industry-standard booking systems
- Process payments, manage invoices, and ensure accurate record-keeping for all customer transactions
- Answer travel-related questions about visas, passports, travel documents, and international entry requirements
- Provide quotes, handle changes and cancellations, and resolve customer concerns with professionalism
- Build customer relationships and encourage repeat business through personalized service
- Stay informed about travel destinations, industry trends, and promotional offers from travel suppliers
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication and customer service skills with a genuine interest in helping customers
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work accurately with details in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with computers and comfort learning travel booking software and office systems
- Willingness to work at our North Plainfield, NJ office for this in-person retail position
- Previous retail, hospitality, or travel experience is a plus but not required
