Remote Mortgage Loan Officer (Massachusetts)

Zillow is hiring a Remote Mortgage Loan Officer (Massachusetts) for our full-time remote team. Based anywhere in Massachusetts, you'll work with homebuyers and refinancers to structure and close mortgage loans in a fast-paced, digital-first environment.

Position Summary

As a Mortgage Loan Officer serving the Massachusetts market, you'll originate, process, and close residential mortgage loans for qualified borrowers. This remote role combines client relationship management, loan analysis, and regulatory compliance to help homebuyers achieve homeownership. You'll work independently while collaborating with processors, underwriters, and sales teams to deliver seamless closing experiences.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Originate mortgage loans by prospecting and qualifying leads, building strong relationships with borrowers throughout the loan cycle
• Analyze borrower financial profiles, review credit reports, and determine appropriate loan products and terms
• Prepare loan applications, submit required documentation, and ensure compliance with state and federal mortgage regulations
• Coordinate with loan processors, underwriters, and title companies to keep files moving toward clear-to-close status
• Maintain regular contact with borrowers to address questions, gather additional documentation, and manage expectations
• Track loan pipeline, forecast monthly production, and hit or exceed assigned origination targets
• Stay current on interest rate trends, loan programs, and market conditions to advise borrowers effectively

Requirements

• Massachusetts Mortgage Loan Officer License (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
• 2+ years of mortgage origination or related loan experience
• Strong knowledge of residential loan products, pricing, and underwriting guidelines
• Demonstrated ability to qualify leads, close loans, and meet sales targets
• Familiarity with mortgage compliance regulations (TRID, ECOA, FCRA)
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Proficiency with loan origination systems and Microsoft Office
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision
