Lead Cloud Platform DevOps Engineer

Zelis is hiring a Lead Cloud Platform DevOps Engineer to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia. In this full-time role, you'll guide the design, deployment, and optimization of our cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes ecosystems, leading both technology strategy and engineering teams.

What This Role Involves

You'll serve as a technical leader for our cloud platform, architecting solutions that support Zelis's healthcare technology mission. Your focus will span infrastructure design across multiple cloud environments, Kubernetes cluster management, and CI/CD automation. You'll mentor engineers, establish operational standards, and ensure our systems meet the reliability and security demands of the healthcare industry.

Your Responsibilities

• Architect and implement cloud infrastructure on platforms including AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
• Lead Kubernetes deployments, cluster configuration, and container orchestration
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines enabling rapid, secure software delivery
• Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting strategies to maximize platform reliability
• Coach and mentor engineering teams on DevOps best practices and infrastructure as code
• Partner with development teams to resolve performance and scalability issues
• Document architectural decisions and maintain comprehensive operational playbooks

What You Bring

• 5+ years of hands-on DevOps or cloud infrastructure experience, including 2+ years in a leadership capacity
• Expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and major cloud platforms
• Proficiency with infrastructure as code frameworks such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Helm
• Experience building and operating CI/CD systems using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions
• Strong foundation in Linux administration, networking, and systems architecture
• Proven track record leading technical teams and mentoring engineers
• Clear communication skills and a problem-solving orientation
