English Instructor (FT) Remote – IA

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential educational services organization seeking a full-time English Instructor to work remotely. Our client specializes in individualized academic preparation for college-bound students, emphasizing core skill development over shortcuts. This is a professional teaching role with comprehensive benefits and a structured schedule serving middle and high school students across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Instruct small groups of students in English core skills, focusing on college readiness exam preparation (ACT & SAT)
• Track student progress through a multi-phase curriculum and provide individualized growth opportunities
• Maintain and update student lesson schedules, hold students accountable for assignments, and communicate professionally with students and families
• Develop and execute creative, evolving lesson plans tailored to individual student needs
• Mentor students through the competitive college application process with empathy and professionalism
• Work during set hours: Tuesdays-Thursdays 1:30 PM - 9:30 PM CST; Saturdays-Sundays 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM CST (Mondays and Fridays off)

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a humanities field from a US institution (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.; Master's preferred)
• 1+ years of teaching experience in English and/or college-level Writing Center experience
• Demonstrated academic excellence (3.5+ GPA)
• Strong verbal skills and mastery of the English language
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suite
• Reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace
• Availability to work the specified schedule (Tuesday-Thursday evenings and weekend days, Central Time)

Preferred qualities:

• College or community college teaching experience
• Strong understanding of classroom pedagogy and ability to create engaging, customized lesson plans
• Dynamic, outgoing personality with a passion for student success
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
