What This Role Involves

As a Research Engineering/Scientist Associate III, you'll take on substantial responsibility for designing, executing, and directing research projects from conception through publication. This role bridges independent research execution with collaborative leadership, requiring both deep technical expertise and the ability to guide research outcomes across experimental cycles, data analysis phases, and team coordination.

Core Duties

• Plan and conduct complex research experiments or computational analyses; troubleshoot technical challenges and refine methodologies to meet project objectives
• Develop and document experimental protocols, data collection procedures, and quality assurance processes
• Analyze research data using appropriate statistical and computational methods; interpret findings and prepare technical reports
• Collaborate with faculty advisors, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate students to integrate findings into larger research programs
• Contribute to journal manuscripts, conference presentations, and grant proposals that communicate research outcomes
• Maintain laboratory equipment, databases, and research facilities in compliance with institutional and safety standards
• Mentor junior research staff and coordinate day-to-day research activities to keep projects on schedule

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM field; Master's degree preferred
• Demonstrated experience in experimental design, data analysis, or computational research methods
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for both technical and general audiences
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively; proven initiative in solving technical problems
