Working Student | Accounting & Finance (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential renewable energy technology client in Munich. They're seeking a Working Student to join their Accounting & Finance team in a role that offers genuine responsibility and hands-on experience at an international scale-up.

This hybrid position requires at least 15 hours per week with flexibility around exam periods. You'll be expected in the Munich office once weekly, with the option to come in more frequently if preferred. This role has strong potential to transition into a permanent position upon graduation.

Responsibilities

You'll take ownership of meaningful finance operations, including:

• Leading portions of Accounts Payable processing for German and US entities—reviewing invoices for accuracy under HGB and US-GAAP standards, applying correct accounts and cost centers, and preparing payments for approval
• Supporting monthly closing activities by coordinating with internal teams and tax advisors to ensure expenses are recorded accurately with complete documentation and proper reconciliation
• Contributing to monthly financial reporting, including cost and budget tracking
• Creating and maintaining process documentation that auditors, tax advisors, and colleagues will depend on
• Potential involvement in expense management optimization, accounts receivable tasks including invoicing and revenue recognition, and broader finance process improvements

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
• Proactive mindset—you identify what needs doing, take ownership, and deliver reliably
• Comfort working with financial data and spreadsheets
• Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor information appropriately for different audiences
• Genuine interest in practical accounting work with foundational knowledge of accounting principles (HGB, US-GAAP)
• Interest in tax, cost, and budget reporting
• Fluent English (required) and German at B2 level or higher
• Prior exposure to DATEV, QuickBooks, or Spendesk is advantageous but not essential
