Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential payroll services organization seeking a Data Engineer / IT Support professional to join their technical team in Kiel. In this role, you will take ownership of data infrastructure and actively shape how information flows through the organization.
Your core responsibilities include:
- Maintaining and advancing data pipelines and infrastructure
- Providing technical support for CRM systems and MySQL databases
- Developing infrastructure solutions using Linux, containerization, and microservices
- Ensuring data quality while optimizing and automating data processes
- Independently implementing projects and new ideas, with future opportunities in data science and machine learning
- Collaborating across departments to address technical and data-related questions
What We're Looking For
Our client values technical understanding, initiative, and willingness to learn new technologies over perfect credentials. The ideal candidate brings:
- A degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Data Science, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, or comparable qualification—career changers with relevant practical experience in data engineering, programming, or IT support are explicitly welcome
- Hands-on experience with Python and SQL
- Knowledge of PHP, FastAPI, Docker, and Linux is a plus but not required
- Strong technical and analytical thinking with independent, structured work habits
- Openness, eagerness to learn, self-motivation, and enjoyment of teamwork
- Excellent German language skills, both written and spoken
This is a full-time, on-site position in Kiel with hybrid flexibility after onboarding (up to 50% remote work). The role offers flexible hours between 6:00 and 19:00 with no core hours requirement.
